The National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S)
have been updated to the
ISTE Refresh Standards.
There are a multitude of video sites on the internet now with valuable
resources - YouTube, TeacherTube, Google Video, etc. Not all are
available within the schools though so learn
how to save videos at home that you could use in the classroom.

Aren't sure what Moodle is and what it's about? SAU 16 has used Moodle
for over a year now and plans to establish it as the primary
e-learning platform. WebCT will be supported through the 2006-07
school year and then will end, as all teachers move their coursework
to Moodle. View

Newsletter (pdf). This monthly newsletter includes important
information related to increasing the productivity of project schools
to move to a higher level of technology implementation. The newsletter
is written with the intent that each project school achieves its goals
involving student achievement, classroom instructional practices, and
technology use. The monthly newsletters will hopefully provide
additional instructional support for individual classroom teachers.
Using technology to help students to find information AND to use this
for synthesis AND to create projects that demonstrate higher order
thinking skills is always a challenge. For the teachers who feel
overwhelmed by including technology into their curriculum for learning
activities, there are a couple of great solutions: Virtual Field Trips

The Intel Teach to
the Future program offers K-12 classroom teachers curriculum designed
specifically for their needs. Teachers learn how, when, and where to
incorporate technology tools and resources into their teaching. They
also learn how to create assessment tools and align lesson plans with
state and national standards. Over 300 teachers in SAU 16 have taken
this 40 hour workshop. See

this year's conference. Keynote speaker presentations are available on
