Online Surveys & Forms Save Time and Allow Access

By Kathy Weise

Across SAU 16, online surveys and enrollment forms are saving teachers and administrators time.  The middle school used an online enrollment form for all seventh and eighth grade students to choose their career day workshop choices.  950 students entered their first, second, and third career choices.  Enrollment occurred over three specific days under the supervision of the technology education, family/consumer science, art, music, and computer teachers.  Data was then collected at the end of each day.  Using the online enrollment saved teachers hours of time collecting and collating the information.

The Literacy Curriculum Committee recently used an online survey to gather feedback on the K-5 Language Curriculum they had developed.  The curriculum was available through a document on a web page and then respondents answered questions online.  The committee received over fifty responses in the two week period.  The data was collected and loaded into a spreadsheet for analysis.

Using web-based forms for surveys and enrollments allows access from any computer that can access the internet.
